Is a 30 or 60 minute session right for my family? There are a few things to consider when booking your session. The two most important being location and your children.
Location
Do you have a location in mind already? This is one of the first questions I ask a new client. I have a list of go to locations where I love to photograph. Some of them don't offer a lot of space to move around so 30 minutes is just right for getting more of the posed style family photos. I also absolutely love exploring the beach and local nature preserves with lots of open space. In a larger location we can take our time and see what unfolds. These photos give more of a storytelling vibe.
Some of my favorite spots to shoot are in Tampa, Lithia, Apollo Beach, Anna Maria Island, and Siesta Key.

Consider Your Children
30 minutes is perfect for the family with older kids or those with outgoing, eager participants. Many children need time to warm up to the idea of a stranger with a big camera. You know your child(ren) best. By considering them you are more likely to have the outcome you desire. If we go to an open space location (beach/nature preserve) there's less pressure for them to sit still and smile. Your gallery will include lots of candid moments (walking, holding hands, playing in the sand/water).

Still unsure?
Look through some of the sessions below and think about which images you are drawn to. The location makes a big difference in the feel of your final photos. Do you want the posed Christmas card photo or do you want those little details captured?
